At Girl Geeks, we’re always looking for speakers for our events. Besides being a great addition to your CV, it offers a great chance to share your knowledge with the rest of the Girl Geek community. If you’re interested in speaking, please contact one of the organisers.

Suggest Speakers

At Girl Geeks Scotland, we always welcome any suggestions for speakers. We have a wishlist of speakers, but if you want to add to this list, please get in touch.

Speaker Guidelines

  • Talks normally last around 20mins with another 5 for Q & A
  • The format and atmosphere is generally informal
  • The audience has a mixture of programmers to those working in social media, so please aim your talk at a general audience
  • Presentations should not be a “sales pitch”, but rather, we’re looking for content that is related to your general area of work or related to the topic of women in computing
  • Our dinners normally range between 35-60 people
  • A computer/laptop with Powerpoint is generally available for all the talks – you should either get in touch with the local organiser to organise final arrangements
  • Contact the local organisers to inform them of any additional equipment needs e.g. overhead projector, flip chart, which we will try to meet to the best of our ability
